What's possible with your Industrial Ethernet network in your HMI...

Real-time Network Analysis

Raw SNMP network data can be difficult to interpret. For the automobile user, a speedometer can convert the raw number of revolutions of the tires of a car into a more meaningful statistic: speed. iSNMP Network Analyst provides a similar service to the industrial Ethernet network user. iSNMP Suite Network Analyst gathers raw SNMP data from the network devices and continually performs calculations to generate data that can be used, such as bandwidth utilization and network error rate statistics. Additionally, iSNMP Network Analyst can offer the user a simple green light/ yellow light/ red light status tag for network devices. The HMI user can then easily summarize the health of their network devices with a simple inclusion of the device status tag.

Power Supply Management

Uninterruptible power supplies have become necessary to ensure maximum uptime and protect powered network equipment from power surges. Most UPSs have embedded microprocessors and are capable of reporting their status and operating mode information via SNMP. With iSNMP Suite, operators can integrate UPS status into their HMI databases. Now when a battery needs replacement, or a UPS trips, you can have immediate notification in your HMI.

Regulatory Compliance

Pharmaceutical control systems have FDA regulations requiring validation of control system integrity. By offering the ability to document the performance and health of the plant control network in real-time using the HMI database and graphical user interface (GUI), iSNMP Suite can make network validation simple.

Fault & Performance Management

When production on a plant-floor asset stops, iSNMP Agent can provide real-time notification of the failure to the enterprise management system. Additionally, specific production information available from the plant-level network can be routed to the enterprise management system to allow real-time access to inventory levels, production rates and manufacturing asset maintenance status. HMI System Integration
Often manufacturing systems have their own human-machine interface (HMI) software systems for gathering plant floor data, historical trending and alarming of manufacturing systems. With iSNMP Agent, these HMI systems can share this information with enterprise management software systems, allowing tighter integration of corporate systems and quicker response times to problems.

HVAC System Monitoring

Modern buildings often have a network to connect their chillers, boilers, heaters and other environmental system assets. These networks often include proprietary network operator interfaces, limiting the ability for administrators to access information from their existing enterprise management software. Using iSNMP Agent and the appropriate HVAC network driver, any plant asset can become visible from the enterprise management software package.

Site-Asset Monitoring

Often remote retail/convenience stores have a connection between their "back-office" systems and the enterprise network management system. Currently, this link is often used only to pass point-of-sale information about sales. With iSNMP Agent software, now the enterprise management system can keep up with fuel tank levels, HVAC conditions, and store asset health.
